After almost two years of doing Catholics for Life as a part-time ministry on Tuesdays and Fridays, Anna and I are now moving to make it a full-time apostolate! I will be working 40 hours a week to conduct and train others to participate in public pro-life outreaches and evangelism to save babies and reach souls with the Gospel. It is hard to move on from working at Created Equal after being there for six years, but my time with them has prepared me to be able to take this next step that God is opening doors for!
Ever since Anna and I were blessed with a free pilgrimage to Rome years ago, God has been placing it on my heart to saturate our pro-life activism with the grace of our Catholic faith, especially through the Eucharist and other sacraments and consecrating our work to Jesus through Mary (our apostolate is consecrated to Mary under the title of Our Lady of America). The means that made Catholics for Life possible by being founded under LifeMinistriesUS, a non-profit started by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, have been incredibly providential from the start. Over the last couple of years, the Lord has been refining our efforts to focus on the projects listed below:
Full-Time Initiatives
I cannot wait to see what God has in store for our apostolate! We were inspired to go full-time as so many opportunities for great fruit presented themselves, such as my little sister Rachael coming on part-time, growing relationships with clergy, possible partnerships with other ministries, and more. As great sinners, we desperately need God’s grace to do anything good, and our only hope is that God will make our apostolate as great or as small and hidden as it needs to be to please Him and bring Him glory.
Accomplishments From The Last Two Years
We can look back on the last two years to see how richly God has already been blessing our meager efforts. We have been able to hold over 375 outreaches at Planned Parenthood and Your Choice Healthcare, helping 30 women turn-away from the abortion facility and having 8 others confirm that they decided not to abort their child! Praise God for using us to help these mothers and babies! We have also conducted 39 street evangelizations with a pro-life focus during our First Tuesday Torchbearers events, Third Friday initiatives, and tabling events. We have held outreaches in downtown Columbus and on several university campuses. During our outreaches, at least 50 people have confirmed with us that they changed their mind on abortion and now oppose it completely! We have had over 75 Catholics from 11 parishes join our events.
We have handed out hundreds of sacramentals, passed out images of Jesus that have the Gospel on the back to over 3,000 people, gave out resources, food, and water to the homeless, introduced 28 post-abortive parents to healing ministries, and prayed with and for many. We have been interviewed 6 times and were invited to give a presentation on half-a-dozen occasions. We also hosted 17 trainings reaching 393 participants. Aside from our regular outreaches, we joined a rosary rally at an abortion facility, participated in 4 processions, one pilgrimage, and took part in the second Men’s March to End Abortion and first Ohio March for Life. We worked incredibly hard to organize a Eucharistic procession to Planned Parenthood, to take the Real Presence of Jesus to Columbus, Ohio’s last surgical abortion facility. The procession was schedule for June 25th, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We could not believe it when Roe v. Wade was overturned the day before (the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus)! We were overjoyed that this egregious wrong was undone, but the threat of violence from furious abortion supporters led to our procession being changed to adoration in the church. It was a beautiful time praising Our Lord and thanking Him and Our Lady, but we hope to get an actual procession scheduled in 2023.
With the ability to ban abortion in Ohio and other states, and with abortion supporters working against us by planning to launch ballot initiatives to amend state constitutions enshrining abortion on demand, we have challenging work ahead, and we need all the support we can receive. If you believe in ending abortion through God’s grace, please partner with us in the long road ahead to make abortion unthinkable and illegal.
Please Partner With Us In Our Efforts!
I have been blessed to have part of my income supported by hundreds of individuals and families over the years so that I can provide for Anna and our four children while working full-time to against abortion. With leaving Created Equal, we lose the benefits we had and no longer have a large organization with a general fund to help supplement our income during seasons of low giving. We are moving into an area where we are relying completely on God’s providence and the generous support of others.
My goal is to raise up to $55,000 in gross annual income next year. We also will need about $7,000 to meet our ministry expenses. If all my supporters from Created Equal switch their donations over to partner with me at Catholics for Life, and we gain some new supporters, especially monthly donors, we will be fine! If you have given in the past or never given before, we would greatly appreciate your support! Monthly donations of $10, $25, $50, $100, $200, or more would best help us with regular expenses, but annual donations or one-time gifts would be such a blessing too. Giving by e-check is ideal as there is no fee, but credit card donations are fine if you prefer that! Donate now or learn more about supporting our apostolate! May God bless you for anything you give to rescue children made in His Image and to save souls!
None of this would be possible without your support! We cannot ask you enough to keep us in your prayers! We hope you and your family are blessed as you celebrate the Incarnation and birth of our Savior Jesus Christ who became a little preborn child to redeem us all! May Our Lord rain down graces upon you this Christmas and New Year’s! All for the greater glory of God! Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin, pray for us!
In Jesus, through Mary and Joseph, all by God's grace,
Gabriel, Anna, Gabriel II, Leo Henry, and Mary Claire Vance
