We reached out to several ministries and individuals to get her help. We connected with the priest who says Mass for the Brazilian community. We were ready to connect Mary with so many resources. As the days went by though, we never heard from her. She had our number, but we did not have hers. It was the evening before her abortion, and we were losing hope.
Sandra jumped into action! She explained all the help available to Mariana and her child.
She directed Mariana’s mind and heart to the grace and provision of God. She gently
helped Mariana see that abortion was really killing a child, just the same as killing a born
baby would be.
The two most important goals of Catholics for Life have been bringing our Eucharistic Lord in procession to Columbus’s last. surgical abortion facility and to make sure every hour our city’s two facilities are open, Christians are outside praying and offering help. In June, Our Lord brought about both these hopes in His great mercy!
I sat with Collin on the curb as he wept over his baby that was being dismembered. He kept calling and texting Sarah and even tried to go back to the surgical room. The staff would not let him back. Sarah never responded. It was too late.
We need some Spanish speaking counselors! We saw a car with a rosary on the rear-view mirror and two Our Lady of Guadalupe stickers on the windshield pull into the driveway that Your Choice Healthcare is connected to. We thought for sure they were going to the laundromat, drive-thru, or daycare; but, to our dismay, it was a couple who walked into the abortion facility
We have made sure that every mother should be reached as she arrives for her abortion appointments as well as many women when they are leaving. There are only 9 shifts left to fill.
This January, Catholics for Life’s two staff members and many volunteers attended St. Patrick Catholic Church’s March for Life pilgrimage to Washington D.C. with a full bus of 54 people!
We have lost legal power to protect preborn children in Ohio, but we must continue to rescue them one by one as we reach their mothers at the last moment! We must sacrifice to be there to love Jesus in each baby and mother until the end! This is the mission and call God has given our apostolate.
Throughout October and the first week of November, we led dozens of people in outreaches to move Ohio voters and defeat Issue 1, the deadly abortion amendment.
Every single one of us can do at least some of these actions to defeat the late-term abortion amendment and save tens of thousands of children. Share these ideas with your family and friends. Promote them to your pastor. Encourage your pastor to both preach on Issue 1 and encourage your church to get involved in the ways below.
Maybe this is what God is doing for us. "Look you do not need a 60% vote. If you had that, you would think pridefully that you stopped the abortion amendment. I will show you that it can still be stopped at a 50% vote by My Grace. Trust in Me."
Two fifteen-year-olds, “Brittney” and “Brian,” walked out of the Columbus Planned Parenthood (PP) after coming from another state. Brittney’s mother had drove them to Ohio for an abortion.
We were able to get her boyfriend to leave their car and come down to talk to us. As he was explaining how he does not want the abortion at all, the facility door flew open, and the girlfriend ran down to us with an ultrasound photo! She yelled, “Twins! It’s twins! Here is one and there is another [pointing at the ultrasound]. Oh my God! I can’t!”
First, a man threw our fetal models into the street. Then a student told us, “Good luck evangelizing here! Most of us are trans and everyone is pro-choice!”
By the grace of God, we confirmed three other babies saved this month and two women who turned away from the abortion facility. Five mothers took information about healing ministries and the mercy of Christ from us as they were leaving.
“Lord, it is not to build up myself or a ministry. It is out of love for the babies who are dying.” The words of His response were a two-edged sword in Gabriel’s heart: “Then, why are you not where these children need you most urgently?”
This month, we had twelve people join us for our evangelization in downtown Columbus, Ohio, and we held our first outreaches out of Ohio during our first Catholics for Life trip to the March for Life!
