For this newsletter, I wanted to share with you how you can work to defeat Ohio’s late term abortion amendment! If you support us from outside our state, please just bear with us as we work to stop this authority from taking 30,000 lives annually in Ohio. People from any state can join us in prayer, fasting, and making calls to Ohio voters (see below).
Every single one of us can do at least some of these actions to defeat the late-term abortion amendment and save tens of thousands of children.Share these ideas with your family and friends. Promote them to your pastor. Encourage your pastor to both preach on Issue 1 and encourage your church to get involved in the ways below. Please go to adoration or pray after Communion and humbly ask Jesus what action you should take. What would we do if it were born children’s lives or your own children’s lives?
Prayer: Pray the rosary (Pray54Ohio.com). Pray the Litany of Dominican Saints daily as the election falls on the feast of All Dominican Saints (bit.ly/DomLit).
Fasting and Penance: Take cold showers, do not eat between meals, only have one meal per day, abstain from meat, or anything you can offer up before the election.
Signs and Literature: Get yard signs and literature to pass out at your church and elsewhere (ohiocathconf.org/protect-ohio, gcrtl.org/stop, and ccv.org/novresources).
Paid Canvassing: Protect Women Ohio Action is paying $15/hour to canvass targeted voters. Contact Kimberly Wasson at (614) 975-7119 or kwasson@sbalistfield.org.
Volunteer Canvassing and Calls: Protect Women Ohio Action is also organizing volunteer canvassing. This is so effective, even if you can only do one Saturday or a few evenings. If you cannot or prefer not to canvass, you can make calls using a smartphone app to targeted voters. This could be great to do at home with children during nap time, during break at work, etc. Contact Doug Green at (614) 551-6021 or douglas@createdequal.org. Churches can also organize days for this.
Overpass: “Vote No” overpass banners reach 10,000 people per rush hour. Contact me.
Shirts: Vote No shirts for $6.50, sizes M-XL. Call Christie McVicker at (614) 395-6665.
Early Voting Outreach: Starting every weekday from Oct. 11-Nov. 6 and the weekend before the election (Nov. 4-5), each county has an early voting center. Go to pass out information to people coming to vote early. Contact me.
Adoration Vigil: St. Patrick is holding a Eucharistic Adoration Vigil that extends through all voting hours on Election Day. Come implore Our Lord for a defeat of Issue 1 anytime from Nov. 6th at 6:30pm until Nov. 7th at 8:30pm. Sign up for an hour at bit.ly/Issue1Vigil. Ask your church to host something similar!
Election Day: Help with overpass banners or holding signs and passing out literature at polling stations on Nov. 7th. Contact me.
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not requite man according to his work?" -Proverbs 24:11-12
