It has been a busy month for us! Here are some highlights:
We had a dozen people attend our November Torchbearers event. We did an apologetics training concerning end-of-life issues, before going to Mass at St. Patrick and walking to Columbus State Community College (CCSC) for our evangelization. We passed out sacramentals, had six students change their minds on abortion, and were able to share the Gospel with Muslim and agnostic students. We also held our Third Friday event with Mass and prayer outside Planned Parenthood for seven people.
Planned Parenthood was closed for a whole week this month (and only open for one day the week before)! We had encouragement on top of that when a mother turned-away! “R” was passing us as she walked into the Planned Parenthood parking lot. She stopped, took literature, and started a conversation as we offered her help. It eventually came out that she was already a post-abortive mother after rape and may be pregnant again. It was a long and difficult conversation; but in the end, she never went into the abortion facility! She even told us that she would seriously consider the help we offered her! Praise God! Please be praying for this mother and the child she could be carrying! We also had a person who stopped while driving by change their mind on abortion and the opportunity to share the fullness of the faith with a couple Protestants praying there.
We took two vans and a total of twenty-one people to the National Men’s March to End Abortion in Baltimore, MD during the fall USCCB meeting. We took a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the Assumption and prayed for the bishops there as the church was being prepped for them to celebrate Mass later that day. Our group then gathered with hundreds outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility. From there, the women and girls left for Mass while the men and boys marched to the hotel where the USCCB meeting was taking place. We prayed a rosary for our bishops and their efforts to end abortion. We were blessed to be joined by Bishops Strickland, Coffey, and Hanefeldt.
This month also marked the notable meeting of Pope Francis and President Biden (the first time they have met since Biden became president). We led a prayer and fasting campaign leading up to their meeting. Biden claimed that abortion was not discussed, but that Pope Francis told him he was a “good Catholic” and that he “should keep receiving Communion.” Please continue to pray for Biden’s conversion and for our pope and bishops to be guided by the Holy Spirit as they strive to defend Our Lord, admonish sinners, and protect souls from grave scandal. We also had a less important but still notable meeting with Eddie Cotter, the founder of the Dead Theologians Society.
I was invited to do a pro-life apologetics training for the Toledo Diocese Catholic Charity’s Academy for Life kick-off. After the event, one student came up and told me that seeing abortion victim photos inspired her to pursue truth and led her back to the Catholic Church! What a powerful witness to the power of showing the victims!
